It's time to celebrate the harvest! Maitri Cyprus is planning a Makar Sankranti celebration on Saturday 16 January 2027, billed as "bigger than before". The harvest festival is celebrated in many different ways across India: as Lohri with bonfires in Punjab, as Pongal in Tamil Nadu, with kite flying for Uttarayan in Gujarat, and as Makar Sankranti in many other states.
